@Jane Eldrrbaum:

Please make sure that you are using the correct version and correct serial number number in correct format. Trend has 4 major products for Home users namely: Trendmicro Internet Security, Trendmicro Internet Security PRO, Trendmicro Antivirus and Trendmicro Internet Security for Dell . Each product has different serial number format. Usually serial numbers for TIS starts with 'P', for TIS PRO it usually starts with 'X', Dell starts with 'D' and TAV starts with 'A' or 'X' . Also, serial numbers are only forward compatible, so it will not work for older versions. ( E.G. 2007 serial numbers will work for 2008/ 2009 versions, but not for 2006.)

Sorry, but your question is really not within the scope of this blog. I would recommend contacting Trend Micro directly for guidance.

I'm working on a friend's computer and she is having this problem. However, she's never had Spybot search and destroy installed. I did install the program (I'm a regular user of Spybot) on her computer and immunize and then undo the immunize and restarted. It did seem to work. However when a program the next day required a restart, the problem (pcScnSrv.exe process running excessively) started up again. Any ideas?
